As RF Engineering & Wireless Systems Technical Lead (sub to GDIT) at the DHS Consolidated Headquarters, we've supported ~18,500 employees across 23 sub-agencies for over a decade, and been competitively re-selected three times running.
Our decade at the 70-acre Saint Elizabeths Campus spans three consecutive, competitively re-won programs. Under the Technology Integration Program (2016 to 2018) we designed and deployed the campus-wide 3-channel, 2-site P25 UHF simulcast LMR network, a 5-position dispatch operations center, 200+ radio subscribers, and Phase 1 and 2 in-building DAS across 15 buildings. Under SETS I (2018 to 2023) we sustained and expanded LMR, DAS, and Wi-Fi at 99.9%+ uptime and built the Technology Refresh and 4G-to-5G migration plans. Under SETS II (2023 to present) we are upgrading the P25 LMR from 3 to 4 channels, adding 100+ FPS subscriber radios and dispatch positions, and delivering Phase 3 and 4 multi-building DAS that integrates multi-carrier cellular with FirstNet. The record across all of it: 99.95% LMR availability, 99.9% DAS uptime, zero Corrective Action Requests, zero security breaches or accreditation failures, 100% on-time milestones, and zero cost overruns.
As a core team partner (sub to 3Links Technologies), we lead the RF engineering to replace aging analog DAS with modern IP-based digital DAS for public-safety LMR across DoD's most complex facilities.
The program covers the Pentagon, the Mark Center, Defense Health Headquarters, and the National Guard Bureau. Our scope runs from baseline assessment and RF propagation modeling across millions of square feet, through passive intermodulation (PIM) mitigation, fiber-backbone reconfiguration, and phased DAS deployment, into 24/7 operations and maintenance targeting 99.99% uptime, all in full DoD, NFPA, and IFC compliance. Replacing legacy analog DAS with IP-based digital infrastructure modernizes public-safety radio coverage in the buildings where communications cannot fail.
As a subcontractor to prime OSC Edge, we delivered the RF engineering behind the National Defense University and National War College wireless modernization at Fort Lesley J. McNair.
The National War College, part of the National Defense University, educates senior military and civilian leaders in national-security strategy, so the communications on its campus carry real weight. For the 2022 to 2023 modernization, TechSentials performed the RF surveys and coverage analysis, produced the wireless system design, and provided deployment support with full as-built documentation. The work was executed on a historic, high-security installation, with all the access and preservation constraints that come with a protected Department of Defense facility.
